Went to the Harris County Tax Assessor office this morning to transfer title and register the E28. They have a kiosk system that actually makes the process better. You enter what you are there to do on the kiosk, it gives you a ticket with a number, then you wait for your number to be called and go to the assigned window. All in all I walked 5 blocks each way (I walk pretty fast at 6'2" with long legs), went in, waited, paid, got plates and a tag, and was back in my office in 30 minutes.
It helps to have all of your documentation in order before you go...though while I was there literally NO ONE else that I saw come up to a window had done the same.
DOTS - good thing this guy upgraded to the 4x4 squared for this extreme off-roading.
Here is me trying to take artful shots of the E28. Turns out all it does is show off the surfboard of a front bumper.

Wow that’s the furthest off road I’ve ever seen a G eaten.
I actually like the diving boards on most 70s-80s BMWs except the 2002. Congrats!

Thanks. I’m looking to tuck the bumper a bit because I think the it detracts visually from the “shark nose” look.

Congratulations! We’ll have to have a mini-meet so you can show it off to another Oppo! There are at least three Oppos in the Houston area.

I’m up for that.
I did a quick search last week for cars and coffee around me, but I have no interest in the official Houston one. I think there is a pretty informal one in Bellaire, but need to ask around.

Yeah, though I’m the only person in the universe that kinda likes the diving boards, even I would like a little bit of tuck - front and back.

My general plan is to take out the hydraulic piston that gold the bumper on and is supposed to absorb the 5mph fender bender, and just replace it with a steel bracket that is shorter. I may even leave some adjust ability in it so I can move it in and out until I get the look I want.
I’m lucky that by brother in law is pretty handy with metal, so he will have the opportunity to teach me on a part that will never be seen.
